Jim Bridger Power Plant Surge Pond impounds the Humphrey Draw River and is used for drinking water, power plant cooling and other general purposes. This earthen filled dam was completed in 1989. The dam height is 97 feet and is 810 across. The pond is part of the Jim Bridger coal fired power plant, one of the largest in the country, co-owned by Idaho Power and PacifiCorp.
