Biggest Fish of MY LIFE!!!!!
Post By: bloatedbass Posted: 11/5/2009 6:27:58 PM Points: 207
Spent a couple hours tubing at prospect park and thought I'd hooked into a monster bass until I realized it was much bigger than a monster bass! This thing occupied the rest of the evening until I finally beached it on the shore. I had a 10 lb test leader with 15 lb braid, so easy does it. I've always wanted to catch a carp over 20, but never thought I'd do it while bass fishing! I put it back so it could surprise someone else. 25lb 3oz. about 36 inches long! My arm hurts... Thanks to the guy that stopped & took the pics.

I heard from a friend of mine that lives near there,..he said that from that crazy hailstorm a few months back, that not only the squirrels and birds that were killed that night, but a lot of bass in those ponds, that were up near the surface feeding, were found dead. Great fight, though. Nice job gettin' it in with that set-up. Reply by: HeavyC Posted: 11/5/2009 8:19:33 PM Points: 1211 Way cool! They are the bomb to hook up with ain't they? HC Out! I like that park, we fished West lake alot this year for some bass action...never caught anything too big in it, some over 14 inches. What are you using if you don't mind? By the way, I got surprised at Tabor Lake there by a 14 inch rainbow...the last thing I expected back in July. I saw an older ( 75 plus ) Korean guy snaggin at garrison and he managed a shad ( I think ) that was huge 18 - 19 inches. I got the carp on a bitsy bug jig with a 3" power craw trailer. My line started moving off quickly after I pitched it to a tree limb & when I set the hook, I somehow buried it in the fish's side and it took forever to get that thing in! I noticed a lot of small & young of the year bass cruising the lake a few months back, so I decided to give it a try.
