When did the Sportsmans Warehouse on Crestline in Littleton close?
Post By: Fishinbud      Posted: 11/4/2009 9:17:18 PM     Points: 848
I drove over there today, only to find out that the building is being advertised as open office space for rent/lease. That sucks and I feel bad for the very dedicated, helpful, informative staff that worked at that store. I hope that they were able to take positions at other stores (but likely that may not be the case). For what it's worth, your information, customer service and smiling faces were and are very much appreciated and I wish all of you well in these tough economic times. Doh!, now there aren't any full service outdoor stores in my area, argh!

Been awhile atleast 3 maybe 4 months. I liked that place too, only shop on that side of town and no it's gone. The one on 84th and I-25 is still there though. Sportsmans in littleton had great fishing deptartment employees, always super helpful.

It seems you haven't shopped there in a long time as it has been like 6 months. They needed your business to stay open were where you??.........

I have heard that the Calbela's in Wheatridge is all but a dead issue, and that stinks!!! They had the roads redone and all.... Some had to do with community that did not want that sort of traffic there, but I am sure there were other issues as well... Sportsman on Crestline was my store, but now I have to find a new one. I go to BPS, but its not my favorite.......

Residents did some damage, but the city also wanted Cabela's to fit the bill for the roads and that is big no no when trying to 'attract' big box stores to your area! From everything I am gathering it is still on, just waiting for the economy to strengthen.

FYI...since they are now building a smaller store in Grand Junction we will all have to pay state taxes on our on-line purchases!!! Kinda negates my partner commission I get from buying from them on-line!! :(

Sportsman's in Thornton is still open. (I-25 and 84th)
Their selection got low for a while, but it's back to normal now.
Best prices in town, and the guys at the gun counter are a HUGE help.
Gander Mountain at Grant and 102nd isn't bad, but Sportsman's still has unbeatable customer service and prices!

It's been several months..I live a hop/skip/and holler from there and was very saddened to see it go browsing for lures was a great past time and agree the staff was wonderful...pickings are slim on our end of town now...I read recently the Cabela's in Grand Junction is still a go...not too hopeful for the one nearer to us...

That's a myth about paying sales tax on mail-order/online purchases once a store has established a retail store in the state. You're still making the purchase from a different state. Last I had read they are at an impass for the store Wheat Ridge, too many politics on both sides I guess.

ObsessedFisherman,
Naw, I bought leeches there Father's Day weekend, so it hasn't been 6 months. I didn't get to fish much this summer or fall due to many family trips (weddings, reunions and funerals). Over the years that it was at crestline, I've easily spent at least 2-3 thousand per year, so they didn't go out of business because I didn't do my part, that's for sure. Still, sad to see them go, that place was a great resource.

Closed somewhere around the first couple weeks of Aug..I know, I practically STOLE about thousand dollars worth of stuff from the store for well under $400. Also hit up the Aurora store when they closed earlier in the spring :(

Sad to see them go though!

That explains why I didn't notice, I was out of town for most of July through September. Again, thank you to all who worked there and I hope that you're doing alright. If any of you ever want to do some fishing, just say the word.
