Great day in terrible weather

Had a good day at North delany, the brown spawn is still hot and poppin. little slower than last week though, could have been the weather change. Weather was pretty close to terrible, 20 degrees and 15 mph blowin wind and snow... Cameron pass was about as bad as it gets even with four wheel drive and weight in the back, getting up and back was like a greased pig ice skating, almost threw on my chains. Cought a couple in the early morning. Kate, my girlfriend cought the biggest one of the day, a touch under 24 inches (biggest fish she's ever gotten). We left when the bite wore off about noon to fish a liitle wamer area down the poudre. Would loved to stay longer but the ladyfriend was a little to cold. Wont tell you where or how i got them, but will say every fish was returned unharmed and as always all gold medal water regs were follwed. Happy fishing!

STM great brown and picture perfect photo.
one glove, in the cold, holding a lunker! Congrats...
what do you think it weighed? looks around 6 or 7?

You know man, i can only guess since we didn't want it out of the water long, but ya we thought it weighed about 6 and half. They are really chalk full of eggs, so that has to add a bunch. I think i might head back up tuesday. I had great fishing a week and a half ago, decent fishing on sunday when we went, i really am tempted to brave the drive for the full moon to get my open water fill until it freezes for the year. The spawn about over? Or do we think it'll pick back up for the full moon then be done?

Oh and to give a shout out, that orange tackle box in the back of the picture is awesome. I picked it up this spring, its a Plano 3378 Flip Sider. Its waterproof and i think it floats (too scared to actually try it out). Anyway its awesome, i left it in the back of my truck for all four trips and all year, got covered in snow and rain and the zippers still work seamlessly, nothing ever gets wet, lots of room, sturdy... Can't say enough about it And no i dont sell em lol

Nice brown looks like you are fishing close to the dam. I 65 years old and have always not been so secretive about what i fish with if i am am catching fish i will always tell my neighbor who is not catching fish.THERE ARE PLENTY OF FISH FOR EVERYONE. GOOD LUCK FISHING

Well Mr. moose, i'm sorry you took offense to me not giving out my "secrets". BUT... Where would the fun be if i told you what to use, how to use it, where to throw it, how to retrieve it? I think it takes away from all of the times i've been skunked and adapted and overcame. Plus, i think it would take away from the adventure for others. I love to take kids fishing and teach them everything i know, but more seasoned veterans need to learn a little on their own. And send me an E-mail if your not catching fish, i can give you another couple lakes where you could have better luck.

Man boys nice job. I love Delany in the fall, i make 3 anual fishing trips. In late march early April i head out to Pueblo Res. to get the wiper run, man they hit hard in bunches. In mid April i head to big Mac for the waleye spawn, and in fall i do the browns. And moose i have nothing against you man.
