White Bear Lake, MN – The Clean Drain Dry Initiative has been honored once again with a special award for Outstanding Achievement by the Reduce Risks from Invasive Species Coalition (RRISC).

The Board of Directors at RRISC announced that Wildlife Forever has been selected to receive the 2017 RRISC award for “Outstanding Achievement” in protecting the economy and environment from invasive species. After a rigorous review of all nominees, the board agreed that Wildlife Forever’s accomplishments with the Clean Drain Dry (CD2) Initiative truly stands out among the rest.

Tim Richardson, Government Affairs Officer for Wildlife Forever, accepted the honor on behalf of CD2. According to Richardson: “Receiving this honor is important because it comes at a time when we are starting to see lake closures, limited access and denial of fishing tournaments. As the national leader in invasive species public outreach messaging under the Clean Drain Dry Initiative, Wildlife Forever is poised to rally the boating and fishing industry to urgent need to educate recreational users and to thereby keep our lakes and streams open to public access.”

Richardson thanked the over 2,500 partners that have worked with Wildlife Forever to help reach two billion impressions targeted to recreational users over the past decade.

Scott Cameron, the Department of Interior’s Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Policy for Policy, Management and Budget, and the past director of RRISC attended the Fourth Annual Congressional Reception and Awards Program on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC.
