Biography:
Troy has been fishing for most of his 38 years, and has been fascinated with the outdoors for as long as he can remember. Troy learned how to fish as a young boy while growing up in Texas and Washington but really discovered his love for bass fishing after moving to Missouri at the age of 13. Being surrounded by hundreds of small farm ponds in his home town of Rolla, Missouri, he honed his bass fishing skills on a daily basis. In 1988 he joined the Colorado National Guard and moved to Aurora, Colorado where he resides with his wife Tanja and his two daughters Ashley and Amanda. After his deployment to Operation Desert Storm in the Persian Gulf, Troy completed his commitment to the Guard, went to work for UPS and now drives the big brown truck. Troy started competitive bass fishing in 1998 when he joined the Denver Bassmasters, the largest bass club in Colorado. Troy has had much success with tournament fishing with several first place finishes and many more in the top ten. He now focuses on his guiding, writing articles, seminar appearances and chasing that state record smallmouth bass he has seen so many times at Aurora Reservoir. In the past couple years Troy has been spending less time traveling to tournaments and more time with his daughters, watching Ashley play soccer and fishing with Amanda.
