John Martin Reservoir by: Catfish goon lake is totally ice free. I fished the spillway and the river about a mile down.... caught wipers on daredevil spoons, and catfish on cutbait distance casted as far as I could to the wall of the spillway on fresh killed carp meat. Saw many others nailing limits of saugeyes on mr. twisters in charteuse, but I couldn't manage the technique they were using. the water is not generating so there's no current. fish on!
