Biography: Grew up in the Midwest (Illinois) along the Mississippi River hunting and fishing with my dad. Fished for all species back there — bass, crappie, bluegill, catfish, and walleye. Made several trips to Lake of the Woods, Ontario fishing for smallmouth bass, northern pike, muskie, and walleye. Moved out to Colorado in May 1983 and became addicted to fly fishing. My pursuit of trout has taken me to rivers all over Colorado, New Mexico, Wyoming, and Utah. From 1985 to 1995, I supplemented my day job as an outdoor writer/photographer with photos and articles in Audubon, Outside, Sports Afield, Peterson, Colorado Outdoors, and several other outdoors magazines. It was a great excuse to spend a lot of time hunting and fishing. I now live in Littleton with my beautiful wife and two great teenagers who enjoy the outdoors with me.
