Biography: Growing up in Boulder I always had the urge to grow something . . . donít know why but people in Boulder grow stuff . . . so about seven years ago I started growing Hops in my backyard in Fort Collins, to put in the beer I brew, hence, my nickname, Hops.
I was an ex-fisherman until about eight years ago when I returned to fishing after over twenty years of watching other people fish as we were camping and in the mountains. Then, while camping in Wyoming, not fifteen yards from a beautiful, crisp, clear lake I thought, ďWhy arenít I fishing that lake?Ē As soon as we returned home I pulled out my gear and started fishing again. Now I fish the ponds and streams around Fort Collins three to four days each week and my wife and I plan three to four camping and fishing trips per month each spring and summer around the lakes of Colorado and Wyoming.
I work for the Poudre school district, have been building custom cabinets for many years, and have recently begun turning cedar crank and jerk baits on my lathe.
I have found Fish Explorer to be a tremendous resource as I have begun casting again and have learned a great deal from all the good people who write, blog, and keep watch over our lakes and streams. If I can ever return the favor and be of help to any of you please let me know. Dale (Hops)
