Georgetown and Echo Lake Sunday

Post By: Fish4Colorado      Posted: 11/13/2017 10:18:28 PM     Points: 588
I got bored on Sunday and decided to drive up to Echo Lake and Georgetown. I tossed my lure a few times on Georgetown and got into one brown. Echo Lake was not fishable with the ice cap.

Here is some videos:

Thanks for sharing. That ice is encouraging that we'll have fishable ice by Thanksgiving!

Avoid me? That's mean. No worries I'm not one of those talkative annoying fisherman. I keep to my self and my group.

No problem Goose. I think by Sunday this week a solid ice cap will freeze if the mini cold front holds after Thursday. I'll be keeping my eye out all week. Be safe to anyone that is going to try.

Didn't someone just post on another thread that Ice fishing was not going to be allowed on Echo this year. I know some don't like to follow the rules, wouldn't want to see anyone get in trouble.

Ice fishing is not allowed on Echo Lake !!! I talked with the Chief ranger from the Denver Parks dept and he is working to see if they can change the rule for Echo Lake only. Fish you standing very near the sign that says" no ice activities allowed". Unless someone took it.

Not too old to fish

I know the rule, and NO where did I mention ice fishing in my post of that lake. Matter of fact i said it was not fishable in my post on top. For those that are wondering whether it's iced or not is the only reason I posted that video.

I got the new iphone it has a capability to record in 4k video, I was just testing to see the quality. Now that I know I want to record some videos, like a video fishing report why not. I'm going to try out upper Twin lake and maybe Mt. Elbert Forebay, we'll see.

Fish, don't take offense I was just adding more information to your report(much appreciated by the way). I just didn't want anyone to get in trouble by ice fishing the lake, I know a lot of guys are looking forward to the first ice fishing trip of the season.

No worries, I figure you were making sure people know. I hope no one is silly enough to break the rules and hurt them selves in that weak ice and cold temp.
