Drove across the lake city bridge today....

I never realized how beautiful a lake can be when the only ripples on the surface are fish breaching. I crossed twice, on the way back out the suns last rays were bouncing across the ripples from the risers.....simply stunning. That lake is now calling to me, I almost jumped in my truck when I got back to work and made the 5 hour drive back to fish!

I want to put a line in that lake now more than I ever have, I think I'll start planning a trip up next summer/spring when I can take a long weekend....

I envy all of you who live close enough to make the big blue a normal trip.....what a beautiful body of water.

Size does matter! A lake that big can handle high and low water much better than smaller water can. BM is truly a great piece of water.

I hear it calling my name. I hope to get up there at least once before it freezes over.

Hope you do Swampy. It is fishing great or was anyway. Nothing huge but lots of 16-18" fish.

May try to get up there Sunday for a couple hours, but have really been counting down the days until I can ice it....

With the way the warm weather is going it will be 30 plus days before good ice at the LCB. I was in Gunnison last night about 7PM. Warm enough to wear a t-shirt.

Looking forward to it. Love first ice and the great fishing. Almost time to order my wax worms and other critters.

Do you end up ordering packs of it and keep it in the fridge through the season? Seems very efficient financially.

I order 500 to 1000 at a time. I keep them in my back office room as they keep better there for me. In the fridge they don't do as well. About every 3 days I go thru them to pick out dead ones (usually very few) and any that are starting to cacoon.
