Lake: Quincy Reservoir

New to kayak fishing

Hey everybody.

I recently have taken a liking to kayaking. While still a novice I'm gravitating towards kayak fishing. Do you folks think Aurora Reservoir is a good place to get better at kayak fishing or would Quincy Reservoir be better due to its size? Thanks in advance for your input.

Honestly, the best thing that you can do is just get out on what ever body of water you can and fish. The more time on the water that you get the more accustomed to the boat you will be and you will be able to figure out what/if any modifications that you want/need. You may want to stay closer to your launch point the first time out just in case the wind kicks up real bad. But either lake would be fine to start. Wouldn't be a bad idea to see if a few people from here or the CKFC would meet up with you too.

Good luck with your new kayak, it's addicting!
