Well it finally happened yesterday. First time in 15 year that the wife and I got the stripped kitty. Yes we got the Skunk at Pueblo of all places. This was very painful to deal with but since I do post of our successes, I have to post this truth too.
Talked to several fishermen and the inspection station folks, all stated they had few to no bites and no fish. One guy said he caught one bass yesterday, one crappie the day before. Another guy said he caught one trout in 2 days of fishing. Between 4 of us we had a grand total of 5 hits and no hook ups. The walleye must be in the spawn so hope in 2 weeks they will be on the feed. At least we got the maiden voyage done for the year and that went well.

Sorry you got the skunk Russ but if I am honest I am actually kind of happy. I was contemplating heading to pueblo Saturday (even bought a new ultralight) and decided not to go. So I am happy I didn't make the trip--if you didn't catch any, I am positive I would not have. Thanks for the honest update. 15 years is a good run.

SGM - I knew that was it. For you to get skunked is unheard of.
Anteroman - even on the days I can't coax a fish to bite, I truly never feel "skunked". It's always a combination of relaxing and learning. When on the tube\toon I do not answer the phone. When done, I take notes about conditions and what was used. So it's always enjoyable

For what it's worth Russ your consolation prize was neither you getting slimed or Karen suckered, Lol. And you got the satisfaction of giving me a kitty-o-Rama roast on BM on my stinky day but I didn't get to witness your's, haha. Betting there won't be any more for another decade at least!
