Matt Snider - Field Editor Field Editors Listing...

Matt is an avid fly fisherman who's turned his love for noodle lines and feathers to warmwater species on lakes throughout the state. Casting a fly in still water is not everyone's idea of fun, but Matt ensures there's plenty of reward for the effort. Having landed almost every type of warmwater species Colorado has to offer, Matt has been through the ringer learning much of his technique through trial and error. He hopes his trials and lessons learned will prove valuable to launch new ideas from those also pursuing the sport. With pike and splake over 30", wiper, walleye, and carp over 20", bass over 17", and crappie over 14", Matt claims not to have perfected fly fishing for these fish, but instead he's perfected the persistence to catch these fish on the fly.

Not only a fisherman, Matt is a web developer by trade and enjoys numerous other activities including disc golf, guitar, and fly tying. Matt grew up in Toledo, OH and then went to college at Cornell University in New York where he majored in something but mostly fished a lot. After spending a year at Orvis in Jackson, WY, Matt and his wife Amy moved to Fort Collins where they've lived since 1996, now with one great fishing dog, two cats, one bird (still kicking! Cockatiel about to break the age record at almost 30 years young) and last but not least a 14 year-old son and 11 year-old daughter.
