Located in Amador County, California, Lake Amador impounds Jackson Creek and the dam was built in 1965 belongs to the Jackson Valley Irrigation District. Since 1973 the recreation has been managed by the Lockhart Family, who claims to have produced one of the finest trout fisheries in the country at this 400 acre reservoir.
Getting there: From CADFG: From Ione, on Hwy 104, go East 3 mi. to Hwy 88. Bear West and cross Hwy 88 onto Jackson Valley Road. Go South 3 miles toward Buena Vista turn East at the sign, go 1 mile to lake.
